Privacy Policy

Nearby Bluetooth Finder is a Northjade app for observing powered-on Bluetooth devices that are advertising nearby and following relative signal changes.

Bluetooth observations

Device names, Bluetooth addresses or identifiers, service identifiers, manufacturer and service payload summaries, transmit-power values, and raw signal readings are processed on the device. They are not sent to Northjade, advertising services, analytics services, or purchase providers.

The app does not provide a crowdsourced finding network, does not create location history, and does not require an account.

Saved outcomes and exports

Found, not-found, or ended outcomes are saved locally only when the user chooses to save them. A saved outcome may contain a local device label, note, session duration, and observation count. The user can delete saved outcomes in the app.

An explicit export or share action sends only the saved outcome selected by the user to the destination the user chooses. Exported data is then governed by that destination's privacy practices.

Optional platform and provider services

A released build may use the platform app store, RevenueCat, Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, and Google's User Messaging Platform for purchases, entitlements, crash diagnostics, coarse product analytics, advertising, and consent choices. Depending on consent and provider behavior, they may process purchase history, app or device identifiers, product interactions, advertising data, diagnostics, performance information, and an approximate region derived from an IP address. These services must not receive Bluetooth identifiers, advertisement payloads, device names from scans, or raw signal history.

Ads are not shown during onboarding, permission requests, active finding, errors, or recovery. Analytics is limited to coarse workflow events and result count buckets. Provider behavior and disclosures are reviewed again before production activation.

Permissions

Bluetooth or Nearby Devices access is requested only when the user starts a scan. The app does not request an account, background tracking, or notification permission for its core finding workflow. The Android app supports Android 12 and newer and does not request location permission for Bluetooth scanning.

Retention and deletion

Bluetooth observations are held only in the running local scan ledger. Saved outcomes, aliases, favorites, and preferences remain on the device until the user deletes or resets them, clears the app's data, or uninstalls the app.
