Wet Bulb Globe Temperature is an iPhone and iPad app provided by Northjade. The app does not require you to create a Northjade account.

Location And Weather Requests

Location access is optional. The app asks for location only when you choose My Location for automatic weather estimation. It requests accuracy suitable for nearby weather rather than continuous or background tracking. You can instead search for or select a place manually, or use the standalone calculators without location access.

To retrieve weather for a selected point, the app may send its latitude and longitude over HTTPS to Northjade's weather proxy and to weather or mapping providers needed for that request. Depending on coverage and availability, these providers can include Apple MapKit and WeatherKit, the US National Weather Service, Japan Ministry of the Environment, Singapore NEA through data.gov.sg, Visual Crossing, Bright Sky/DWD, and MET Norway. Provider terms and retention practices apply to information they process.

The Northjade weather proxy uses a coordinate rounded to three decimal places for its shared weather cache. Cached weather expires after no more than one hour. The proxy does not store a location name, saved-site label, calculator input, or calculator result. Network infrastructure may process IP address and standard request metadata for security, delivery, and abuse prevention.

On-Device Data

Saved sites, selected locations, forecast history, unit and appearance preferences, reminder settings, and calculator state are stored on your device. Calculator results are not uploaded to Northjade and are not added to forecast history. Local notifications are scheduled by iOS on your device when you enable a Pro threshold reminder.

You can remove saved sites and history entries in the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, subject to any device backup managed through your Apple account and settings.

Installation Identity And Weather Allowance

Firebase Anonymous Authentication creates a technical installation identifier so the weather proxy can enforce usage limits without a name, email address, phone number, or Northjade login. Firebase App Check uses Apple's App Attest service to help confirm that requests come from the genuine app.

The proxy stores a one-way hash of the installation identifier with weather-allowance counters, request status, entitlement cache, and rewarded-ad verification records. Weather allowance records expire 90 days after their latest change. Request records expire after about one hour, entitlement cache records after about five minutes, pending reward challenges after about 30 minutes, and verified reward transaction records after about 30 days. Google Cloud and Firebase infrastructure may retain security and operational logs under their applicable policies.

Purchases

Optional Pro purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat processes the anonymous installation identifier, product identifiers, purchase history, transaction and entitlement status, and related device or app information needed to offer, validate, restore, and protect purchases. The same anonymous identifier is used by the weather proxy to verify Pro weather allowance. Northjade and RevenueCat do not receive your payment-card number from the app.

Purchase information is not used by Northjade for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Advertising And Privacy Choices

The free version may show banner, interstitial, and user-initiated rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Pro removes ads. Google User Messaging Platform requests and stores applicable advertising privacy choices before the app requests ads.

Depending on your region, device settings, and choices, Google may process information needed to deliver, measure, limit, and protect ads. This can include IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, device or advertising identifiers when available, app and ad interactions, consent signals, and diagnostics. A completed rewarded ad is verified by Google's signed server callback before extra weather allowance is granted.

The app does not currently request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission. It does not enable personalized cross-app tracking unless a future version adds that permission flow and updates this policy and its App Store disclosures first.

Analytics And Remote Configuration

Firebase Analytics may collect sanitized product and monetization events only after the app's Google consent flow permits analytics collection. These events can describe onboarding progress, screen or feature use, paywall display, purchase or restore outcomes, ad flow outcomes, review-prompt eligibility, and broad entitlement state.

Analytics events must not contain precise coordinates, place names, saved-site labels, weather payloads or measurements, calculator inputs or results, notification thresholds, free-form text, name, email address, phone number, or account credentials.

Firebase Remote Config retrieves non-secret operational settings, such as whether ads, paywall prompts, review prompts, or a minimum supported build notice are enabled. The app includes local defaults and remains usable if Remote Config is unavailable.

Crash And Diagnostic Reporting

Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash reports and sanitized non-fatal diagnostics so Northjade can identify and fix stability problems. Reports can include app version, device model, iOS version, timestamps, crash stack traces, and technical state related to the failure. They must not contain precise coordinates, place names, saved-site labels, weather payloads, calculator inputs or results, name, email address, phone number, or account credentials.

Data Sharing, Sale, And Children

Northjade does not sell personal information. Data is shared only with service providers needed for app functionality, purchases, advertising, consent, analytics, diagnostics, security, and weather delivery as described above.

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.

Your Choices

You can deny location access and still use manual location selection and offline calculators. You can change location and notification permissions in iOS Settings, manage notifications in the app, revisit ad privacy choices when that option is available, restore or manage purchases through Apple, delete local saved items, or uninstall the app.
